Cowboy Theme Wedding at Pendrell Hall
Pendrell Hall is a blank canvas wedding venue for you to design a wedding day that truly reflects you as a couple - and this cowboy loving couple absolutely embraced that freedom. With a laid-back cowboy theme, plenty of personality and all the fun of a proper knees-up celebration, their day was anything but traditional.
Morning Preparations
There's plenty of space at Pendrell Hall for a relaxed wedding morning where everyone can get ready on site, this makes for great morning candid photos - and my clients love looking at those after the wedding day. It's the one way you get to see what your fiancé's experience was like on the wedding morning. I start by quietly capturing the little details that you've put so much effort into, making clever use of Pendrell Halls surfaces and pockets of light.
Groom Preparations
Groom antics never fail to surprise me, especially if they are as fun loving as groom Josh here. Whilst bride Jess was getting ready in the Love is Enough Suite, Josh was hiding the rings under a random chair ready for the prank of the century, before heading up to the Pimpernel Suite to get his cowboy glad rags on, complete with traditional western neck-tie, belt buckle and cowboy hat.
Reactions
There's no better way to get hyped for walking down the aisle than to have 'first looks' with those who love you the most, and in Jess's case this was her bride tribe followed by her pops. This is such an intimate moment so I make sure to stay in the background allowing you all to fully experience all of the emotions without feeling like the camera is getting in the way.
However rest assured I do make sure that this moment is perfectly timed and nobody barges into the room before you're ready. Pendrell Hall is perfectly laid out for this with your choice of luxury backdrops including the classic Strawberry Thief Suite.
Wedding Ceremony
The Morning Room at Pendrell Hall features natural light in contrast with dark wooden panelling, providing the warmest and most rustic surroundings for a cowboy themed wedding. Jess & Josh thought of every detail, even having the sound of crickets playing in the background of their vows.
When the time came for Maid of Honour Paige to present the rings - Josh's prank was revealed by an empty box and a look of dismay on Paige's face! She wasn't left to suffer long before Josh confessed the box had been hidden under a random chair esrleirthat morning. The rings were found, panic attacks subsided, and the ceremony continued as planned.
Confetti
Confetti photographs aren't for amaeturs - I need to be fast and on point. Your confetti exit is an explosion of joy and celebration surrounded by you biggest advocates chearing you on and I strive to capture that energy.
I often like to take the opportunity while your guests are all together in one place to grab a quick 'everyone' group shot - this way I know for sure every face at your wedding is in at least one photo before anybody disappears off to the loo or check in. It's quick to do and you'll be glad to have it when the day is done.
Speeches & Singing Waiters
I learn so much about my couples by listening to speeches from their nearest and dearest. While of course I capture flattering shots of the person giving a speech, I also keep an eye on you as the couple - your reactions form part of the story and snapping your laughs and tears will enable you to relive the love in the room.
Jess surprised her new husband with singing waiters - shout out to the Silver Service Singers! If you haven't experienced singing waiters before, it all starts with a singer in disguise tripping over to cause a commotion and grab everyone's attention- and bless him Josh was too concerned about making sure the waiter was ok to realise what was happening. He soon got into the swing though and a good time was had by all.
Wedding Portraits
The grounds of Pendrell Hall make for the perfect afternoon stroll and opportunity to have your wedding portraits done. Daylight permitting, I suggest having your couple portraits after your meal (and a quick spruce up) as by this point the sun is less harsh in the sky and your guests have all given you a kiss and a cuddle and are happy to give you a bit of space to be alone. I'll offer light guidance and dad jokes to help you feel comfortable and achieve photos that reflect your giggles and closeness together.
Evening Reception
In true cowboy spirit, Jess & Josh surprised their guest with a mechanical bull followed by Pickle shots. To capture these hilarious moments, I linger close by, armed and ready with a fast shutter speed and a leap and a prayer! Suit trousers remained in tact but shoes were lost.
