Cosy Autumn Wedding at Pendrell Hall

Pendrell Hall is pretty at any time of year, but I knew photographing a wedding here in autumn was going to be stunning with the soft light and warmer tones.

Morning Preparations

There's plenty of space at Pendrell Hall for a relaxed wedding morning where everyone can get ready on site, this makes for great morning candid photos - and my clients love looking at those after the wedding day. It's the one way you get to see what your fiancé's experience was like on the wedding morning.

At this point in the day, when the brides dad is seeing her for the first time, I like to step back and photograph this moment candidly, with no posing. I do like to help make sure this moment can happen though - so that dad doesn't burst into the room before your ready. But, I'm always lead by my couples preferences - I can be anything from 100% unobtrusive to project managing the moment.

Groom Preparations

I do love to get a few photos of the groomsmen in the morning, especially if my couples want a few group photos - this is a great time to get those checked off before the day gets into full swing. Whilst bride Amy was getting ready in the Love is Enough Suite, groom David was getting ready with groomsmen in the Pimpernel Suite - complete with William Morris wallpaper, chandelier and other country manor house details that look great in the backdrop of wedding photos.

Wedding Ceremony

I loved the soft light in the wedding ceremony room, which was the Morning Room. Although it features dark wood panelling, one side is flooded with window light, so it was the perfect balance for gorgeous candid photos of everyone waiting for Amy's arrival with her dad.

Wedding Portraits

The grounds of Pendrell Hall are stunning! There are loads of picturesque spaces for portraits, and there was quite a bit of shelter as well - although Amy and David were really lucky with the weather. It can be a little risky with weather on an October wedding - but Pendrell Hall has loads of cute spots for portraiuts inside as well.

Evening Reception

I love photographing this part of the wedding day! Everyone is really relaxed, and it's a great time for candid photos.
