Newly engaged? Don't know where to start with wedding planning and just want to live your best 'fiancé era'? Or perhaps you're ready to book your wedding photographer but are nervous about choosing the right one.
Enter AJay...That's where an engagement shoot with yours truly comes in.
An engagement photo shoot with me is the perfect way to dip your toe in the sea of wedding planning, to make sure you vibe with a photographer and get you used to being in front of a professional camera (it can be a daunting prospect but I promise you get used to it quicker than you think!)
The next thing i'm about to say may surprise you... but if you HATE having your photo taken, an engagement session is the best decision you can make.

What does an Engagement Photoshoot involve?
My 'not-so-secret formula' for a gorgeous engagement shoot is simple.
You. Me. A picturesque place.
Whether your cup of tea is a Spring fling or Autumn aesthetic, together we'll pick the perfect time and place to reflect your personalities and fit in with your wedding timeline.
We'll spend approximately 45-60 minutes together at a picturesque place, getting to know each other and snapping away! I'll chat to you, crack some Dad jokes and guide you effortlessly through different prompts (no stuffy poses here thank you) allowing you to be your fun silly authentic selves and ensure your photos reflect who you are as a couple.
What is the point of an Engagement shoot?
An engagement shoot is a fab way of getting comfy in front of the camera so that you're perfectly at ease for the main event. It can also help you think about the kinds of photos you like (and don't like) so that together we can make sure that you love each and every one of your wedding photos.
If you're anxious about how you look or behave (I'm looking at you Chandler Bing), an engagement shoot is a great practice run so that I can see how to help you look and feel your best (trust me - there is nobody I can't help to look and feel good, that's a promise) and in return help you to feel excited rather than nervous about your wedding photos. In fact, my couples often come away from their shoot surprised at how much fun they had.
The best reason to have an engagement shoot though? To have fun. To be yourselves. To celebrate you, and because - put simply, you deserve nice photos. (Psst... you can even use them for save the dates and invitations!)

Here's what my couple had to say after their engagement sessions...
"AJay is the most wonderful, calming and reassuring presence. We recently had our engagement photoshoot to get some practice in ahead of our wedding day.
I struggle with some anxieties on body positivity, and she was flippin' amazing. We had FUN, something which I never imagined was possible in front of a camera. We are so grateful to have AJay for our wedding day later this year.
She is a blessing in blue xx "

"I originally reached out to AJay on social media as I was sharing my worries about being photographed for my wedding next year. We agreed to go ahead with an engagement shoot to ease my nerves, and well what can I say. AJay delivered!
I was nervous at the beginning but she made me and my fiancé feel so relaxed and we had so much fun. We were smiling and laughing through the whole hour. My fiancé and I really love our beautiful engagement photographs.
She captured our natural connection and love for each other so well. The pictures are beautiful and tell a lovely story.Thank you AJay, we can’t wait for you to share our wedding day with us and see what more magic you create!"

Quick Fire Questions
AJay, we hate having our photo taken!
Honestly - this is music to my ears. This is exactly what an engagement shoot is for. I also hate having my photo taken so you can feel at ease knowing you're in the hands of someone who UNDERSTANDS (but is going to make you do it anyway)- and who won't force you to do anything cringy or uncomfortable. I'm well used to helping couples come out of their shells, be their authentic selves and RELAX! As long as you're having a good time - the photos will take care of themselves (and i'll take care of you). I promise.
Where should we have our engagement shoot?
There are plenty of picturesque and cool places to have an engagement shoot depending on the vibe and aesthetic you're after. I have my favorite places (Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Priory Park Castle Ruins, Warley Woods, Walsall Arboretum and Digbeth to name a few...) but if you have a special place in mind, tell me! We'll figure out the perfect place together.
We're so excited - when will we get our photos?
Engagement sessions are usually delivered digitally within 72 hours!
What is the best time of year for our engagement shoot?
There's no right or wrong answer to this - every season brings its own beauty and dynamic to your photos. If bright colours and happy florals are your thing - then a spring shoot would be up your street. If cosy warm tones and fallen leaves tickle your fancy - then i'd suggest Autumn is the way to go. If you're unsure, we can look through some galleries together and discuss your timeline to figure out the very best time for your engagement session.
We're ready to book! How does it work...
Fantastic! We'll have a little chat about when and where you'd like to have your shoot, then once we've decided on a date, time and and place it's time to pay your £200 fee to secure your spot. In the lead up to your shoot I keep an eye on the weather, and although rain and snow doesn't have to be a dealbreaker, we'll chat together about if you'd like to postpone (at no extra cost). Of couse life can get in the way so if you need to reschedule your shoot it's no problem, all I ask is you let me know at least 24 hours in advance where possible.
